Diwali is the celebration of the victory of good over evil. It is an Indian festival and is celebrated throughout the country with great joy and enthusiasm. Everyone wears new clothes and bright jewelry. They light lamps (diyas) in their houses, eat sweets and light firecrackers. The houses and markets are decorated with beautiful lights and there is a spitit of happiness all around.
